I have discovered that I possess a rare combination of skills. I know a lot about wine and I know a lot about web sites. If you are a wine club, wine writer, or small winery looking to establish a presence on the web, I am a pretty good guy to talk to. If you looking to design a web site that is not related to wine, I am still a pretty good guy to talk to. I have been designing web sites since almost the birth of the web itself. The three buzz-words I use when designing a web site are Usability, Maintainability, and Simplicity. In other words, I design my web sites to be easy to use, easy to maintain, and I achieve both by adopting simple and straightforward layouts.
There are thousands of wine related web sites on the Internet, and this one is particularly special because it is mine. OK, maybe that makes it special only to me. The fact of the matter is that I am a graduate of the Algonquin College Sommelier Program, and although I do not work directly in the wine trade, I have the opportunity to taste a lot of wines. If I didn't write down my wine experiences somewhere, I'd soon forget them. So consider this a collection of wine thoughts and memories rather than a coherent and organized reference of wine.
Other Diversions is my personal blog. There, I admitted it. I've created a blog for myself. Not everything I do is related to wine and web sites. I sail, ski, ride my bike, take the bus, and drive my car. I cook and I eat. I own a cat and a camera. I like to read books and watch movies. Like everybody else, I do all sorts of things. If I have done something interesting (by 'interesting' I mean interesting to me) maybe, just maybe, I'll dump it here.
